8 Slow Cooker Freezer Meals


 After a few weeks of preparation and a LOT of requests from wonderful  readers a new list of freezer meals is finally here!

8 Freezer Slow Cooker Meals

One of my biggest personal meal challenges is Sunday dinner. My family and I spend a good portion of each Sunday at church and everyone is always hungry when we get home but I rarely have time to prepare a meal before we leave. So, I decided my next freezer project should be crock pot meals. Again, I planned to spend the day fixing my list of meals with my sister in law. Unfortunately my SIL became sick at the last minute and couldn’t help me but the plan was on the schedule and the grocery shopping was done so I plugged along without her. She was greatly missed!
My 8 recipes include:

My shopping plan consisted of two separate lists; one from the grocery store, and one from the pantry.

Sausage, thinly sliced or crumbled (Lbs)

Tomato Paste (6oz Can)
Tomato Sauce (8oz Can)
Tomato Soup (10.5 oz Can)
Tomatoes with Chili Peppers (14.5 oz Can)

Chicken Bouillon Granules (tsp)
Chunky Salsa (Cups)

At the grocery store I spent approximately $176.00, but REMEMBER I was shopping for TWO families so the estimated cost for one family (of 5 people) is $88.00 (or approximately $11.00 per meal). In order to calculate the most accurate price I could, I purchased everything except spices and milk.
To start off the day I cooked all the meat first.
  • Cook Bacon (in oven at 400 for approx 20 min.) until crisp

  • Cook Ground Beef (Add chopped onion about ½ way through)

  • Cook Ground Sausage (Add chopped onion about ½ way through)

  • Slice pork roast and brown in a large skillet.

After the meat was cooked and cooling I started assembling (the chicken recipes were the easiest to assemble so I saved them for last):
  • Pork and Veggies: First I put in all the spice and liquid ingredients. Next I added the meat. Last came the veggies with the mushrooms on top.

  • Cheesy Slow Cooker Pizza: This meal was prepared and placed in two separate baggies because the process of cooking involves layering. The mushrooms and lasagna noodles will be stored in the pantry.

  • Sausage and Bean Supper: The canned goods for this meal will be stored in the pantry.

  • Tomato Beef Stew

  • Mexican Pot Roast

  • Golden Chicken: Be sure you have milk before cooking this one!

  • Bacon Feta Stuffed Chicken: My chicken breasts were very thick so rather than pound them flat I cut them in half (like a filleted fish), stuffed them with the bacon and cheese and “resealed” them with toothpicks. I also only made 2 instead of 4 because one would easily feed two people in my house (most of our people are small).

  • Chicken Cordon Bleu Bundles: These could easily be baked in the oven!

After all was said and done the day was very successful! I completed 16 meals (8 for me and 8 for my sister-in-law) in just under 4 hours. That works out to be around 15 minutes per meal, plus I only had to do dishes one time! A few of the recipes require a bit of preparation for the liquid but most of them are ready to be taken out of the freezer the night before and placed in the crock pot the next morning.
I found that labels stick to zip top bags much better if they are placed on the bag while empty. Originally I was using Avery Address labels but soon discovered there was too much information for such a small label. I recommend printing the label sheet and attaching the instructions to the baggie BEFORE you start cooking.

Tried 4 of these so far- your recipes are wonderful. Even being on Weight Watcher's, I can eat these and still lose weight. However, you don't have the time for the Bacon Feta Chicken and that's the one I've thawed out for tonight's dinner; please help! : )

hi there! in the tomato stew is there any liquid added once ready to cook?

 To cook you will add the contents of the ziplock bag with the can of diced tomatos (undrained) and the can of tomato soup. This is all the liquid you should need.

One question though, I need to start these before I leave for work, for the shorter cooking times do you think they would be okay switching to warm in the crockpot until i get home from work or do you think it would mess up meal too much? thank you! very glad i found your site!

so excited to try this!! they look so good! quick question (apologize ahead of time if it is stupid - I am new to this!) - I need to put food in the crock pote before I go to work most days. For the shorter time ones, do you think it would still be fine since it will switch to warm after cooking is done or do you think being on warm for close to 4 hours would mess up the dishes?

I think they will be fine if they are in the crock pot all day. I would be sure to cook them on low.

The grocery list is in the same excel worksheet as the recipes, it is in a different tab at the bottom.
